Chelsea Painters Annual Art Fair
Held the first full weekend of  June every year.

The first Chelsea Painters Art Fair featured unframed paintings hung with clothespins on lines strung between the trees.  A nearby sign read:  "Paintings, $5 each".

As the artists' skills have matured, so has the art fair.  It's now considered the premiere fine arts fair in Southeastern Michigan.

Over the years the fair has grown into a much-anticipated annual gathering where friends and art lovers from far and wide reunite after a long winter indoors.  And, of course, the main topic of conversation is the award-winning art.

Visitors appreciate the park-like shaded setting.  There's plenty of parking, and the entire Art Fair is wheel-chair accessible.

The Chelsea Center for the Art's Children's Booth is always busy with aspiring Picassos.

All artwork is under tents, so damp weather is never an issue.

People of all ages find something to enjoy at the Chelsea Painters Art Fair.

The musical duo Blue-ize and friends enjoy an afternoon jam session at the 2004 Art Fair. They also performed during the 2006 event.
